Minister of State for Schools
Nick Gibb was appointed Minister of State at the Department for Education in July 2014. He was elected Conservative MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton in 1997.
Nick went to school in Maidstone, Leeds and Wakefield before going on to study law at Durham University. He was formerly a chartered accountant specialising in corporate taxation with KPMG.
He served as Shadow Minister for Schools from 2005 to 2010 and as Minister of State for Schools from May 2010 to September 2012.
His ministerial responsibilities include: teachers and school leaders, school accountability, and school admissions.
